We have some exciting news to share! As many of you already know, we have been providing families with long-term care guidance and support through Medi-Cal Benefits, a company dedicated to helping seniors access medical benefits and qualify for California’s Medi-Cal program.
But we wanted to do more. We know that navigating long-term care, estate planning, and health insurance decisions can be overwhelming and intimidating. That’s why we are expanding our services and branching out with a new name: 1on1Eldercare.
What Is 1on1Eldercare?
1on1Eldercare is a boutique elder care agency that caters to all levels of long-term care (including Medi-Cal and private pay options), offers pre-planning to make sure your estate is in order, and provides Medicare and health insurance evaluations.
Many people spend the bulk of their working years preparing for retirement, but an area of planning that often goes ignored is eldercare planning—making decisions and creating a comprehensive strategy for the many transitions and decisions that go hand in hand with aging.
Our Elder Care Planning Process
At 1on1Eldercare, we create a focused plan for families that includes both financial considerations and medical care solutions. We do this through a 4-pronged approach:
- Estate planning: We ensure you have your affairs in order, including legal issues such as trusts and powers of attorney.
- Life picture: Our solutions are personalized. Your life (or your loved one’s life) is different than anyone else’s. That’s why we look at your life, diagnoses, and what you are currently struggling with and help you figure out the best options, whether that’s Medi-Cal or private pay.
- Medi-Cal: We walk you through the process of setting up Medi-Cal benefits and solidifying eligibility.
- Private pay: If you choose option B, we help you navigate the middle-of-the-road piece that Medi-Cal doesn’t pay for, such as home care, assisted living, and board and care placement. This is part of our new service offering at 1on1Eldercare!
Included in our process is assistance with Medicare. We conduct insurance evaluations if we believe you could be better served with a plan that offers more benefits or saves you money. With 1on1Eldercare, you receive an eldercare advisor who will personally help you with placement for care or help you handle the details for home care, matching your loved one’s medical needs, finances, and current situation to the right facility or care provider.
